This Greg MacGillivray film — projected on a six-storey screen — follows a polar bear family’s struggle to survive in the melting, though still majestic, habitat they call home.
Watch a Tony Award-winning Play - until October 27
Maria Callas may be dead but her spirit lives on in Master Class, a Tony Award-winning play by Kiss of the Spider Woman scribe Terrence McNally. Set in an opera class at Juilliard, it spotlights the world’s greatest soprano as she regales students with tales of her past — from triumphs at La Scala to feuds with rival singers to a doomed affair with Aristotle Onassis. See it until October 27 at Vancouver’s Granville Island Stage.
See the Popular Play, Chelsea Hotel - until November 3
Few hotels are quite as infamous as the Chelsea. In its 128-year history, this Manhattan landmark has been the backdrop to all manner of murder, mayhem and mystery. Perhaps less well known is that it also served as the stomping grounds for a young Leonard Cohen, whose music sets the soundscape for Chelsea Hotel, a play returning by popular demand to Vancouver’s Firehall Arts Centre until November 3.
