Used electronics pile up fast, but you can make sure they stay out of the landfill

It’s estimated that a whopping 40,000 cellphones are tossed into the garbage every day in Canada

In fact, many of our outdated electronic devices, including phones, desktop and laptop computers, MP3 players and digital cameras, are just collecting dust and sadly, often end up in the landfill.

Where to Recycle Your Electronic Devices in Canada

Here’s a quick primer on how to recycle your electronic devices. First, ask your service provider or retailer if you can recycle your device at the source (or shop) where you bought it.

If that’s not possible or practical, visit return-it.ca for a list of drop-off spots for electronics.

Recyclemycell.ca can also help with recycling your mobile phone, and bonus: You can even call them. Dial 1-888-797-1740.

Another alternative is Best Buy, I believe. I was at Best Buy the other day and they had a recycling station out in the front where you can recycle practically any products that they sell in the store. Otherwise, another alternative is freecycling.
