Newark Times Weddings explores life engaged to (an alleged) serial killer

Newark Times Weddings is a hysterical offbeat mockumentary that follows Ted and Gracie, a young and strangely mismatched New York couple who recently got engaged.

The online-only series originated on popular sketch-comedy site Funny or Die and has garnered popularity for its particular brand of subversive humour.

Laced with dramatic irony, the series drops subtle hints that Ted might actually be a serial killer fleeing his former life as a kindergarten teacher, while his fiancée Gracie remains blissfully unaware of his bizarre behaviour and oddly dishevelled appearance.

Jena Friedman, who plays Gracie, is an up-and-coming comedian who wrote and directed the Newark Times series and also writes for The Late Show With David Letterman.
