Supporting a local cause never tasted so good

Don't miss this incredible night of delectable culinary delights...
Wouldn’t it be amazing if Vancouver had a new, sustainable, LEED-certified facility to house a permanent farmer’s market? Helping to fund the New City Market is just one goal of RIPE, the Vancouver Farmer’s Market’s first annual fundraising event.
The “evening of local food and libation” will highlight the cuisine of Chef Robert Clark and Quang Dang, both of Raincity Grill, NU and C restaurants. Both chefs will work with local farmers to provide delicious food at the event.
RIPE will take place on the evening of October 1 at Performance Works on Granville Island. During the evening you’ll have the opportunity to connect with local producers, listen to a variety of speakers, meet the chefs and, of course, indulge in a scrumptious local feast.
Tickets are available for purchase online, at Barbara-Jo’s Books To Cooks and Edible BC or by calling the Vancouver Farmers Markets office at 604-879-3276. Tickets ($90 for members, $100 for non-members) will be on sale until September 29. [UPDATE: Tickets will be available right up until the start of the event; purchase them as mention above or pay at the door. —Eds.]
With your ticket purchase you’ll support both the creation of the New City Market and the establishment of a Farmers Nest Egg Fund. You’ll also receive a one-year membership for the Vancouver Farmers Market, great food, drinks, entertainment for the evening and access to a silent auction and a raffle draw.
