The Walrus hits TV

Canadian general interest magazine The Walrus recently launched its own online TV channel to expand on its most popular stories with short, custom-produced documentaries.

With top-notch production value and thorough, thoughtful commentary, these short hits are impressive additions to the already well-told stories in the magazine. Not only do the documentaries expand on the original magazine articles, but they also often interview the authors.

I recommend starting with “The Meaning of Hockey,” a four-minute companion documentary to a November 2011 essay about the origins and spirit of hockey and Canada’s unique relationship with the game.
