While you can't watch entire episodes, Touchtv collects clips from a huge collection of popular shows

Short attention span, but still want to keep up with what’s happening on the boob tube? Touchtv might be just the answer.

The iPad app is a content aggregator that pulls (mostly) short clips from the websites of news, sports and entertainment channels. (The app also recently streamed the full first episode of the NBC show Smash.)

Add favourites – such as BBC America, CNN, PBS Newshour, NHL, Comedy Central TV, National Geographic – from categories such as Entertainment, Life, Politics and Sports to customize a handy tile display and view game highlights, news stories, episode recaps, talk show monologues and more.

It’s not without its bugs, however. We finally had to do a YouTube search when a promised clip wouldn’t load.

The TouchTV app seems like it would be cool to have if you want to check out clips of shows. I prefer to have access to full episodes, so I use the DISH Remote Access app through DISH. With the Sling Adapter hooked up to my receiver I can watch all my subscription channels on the go. Anywhere I can get a 3G or Wi-Fi connection I can access all my channels. I love taking this app along on the road, or when I have time on my hands. A co-worker at DISH even told me I could access more movies through my Blockbuster@Home service, which is cool. I love this app and I would prefer this app over any of the other ones I have checked out.
