At Splash, the Lego Minifigures and Corolle Dolls go down a treatA hub of Richmond’s Steveston community, Splash Toy Shop offers its customers a hands-on experience.
"Our staff are very knowledgeable," says long-time store manager Kelly Krull. "We sample all of our products so that we can tell you exactly how they work."
This insider knowledge creates many repeat customers, who then bring their friends and family to join in on the fun. The warm reception to Splash in Steveston helped owner Beth McKercher open a second location in Vancouver’s Dunbar neighbourhood. The Fort Toy Box boasts an extensive collection of wooden toysNestled in Fraser Valley’s historic Fort Langley, The Fort Toy Box (along with sister shop, White Rock’s Crescent Beach Toys) boasts an extensive collection of wooden toys, offering families creative, sustainable options.
"We want to introduce kids to new classics – toys that will last," says owner Phil Lipton. Case in point: Red Tool Box. In order to play with its line of products, kids have to build them first.
Like The Fort Toy Box, but wish there was more of it? This September, the shop will move into a bigger space down the street, and partner with children’s consignment boutique, Bumble Bee’s.
Dilly Dally on Commercial Drive!
Pretty good list of stores but I am really surprised that the author missed the Toybox on West Broadway. No one can beat the selection and the service is fantastic. The store has been there so long that I went there as a kid! I think that they also have other stores in BC as well (Toy Jungles or something like that?). I met these owners and they are the nicest, most community oriented people I have ever met. It is too bad that the author missed this real gem of an independent store that in my and my kid's opinion is the best around.
I agree with you. The other stores are called Toy Jungle. A lot of people don't realise their independent because the store is so big and nicely themed and in Park Royal mall. I appreciate the large play area in the store (I use it for bribes every week!), the great selection and free fun gift wrap. We LOVE the Toy Jungle!
Cotton 'n' Crayon in Ocean Park, South Surrey is fantastic!
We love Splash or (as my son calls it) "The Thomas Store".
