Ever wanted to try intermittent fasting? Here's how to do it safely and intelligently
Intermittent fasting may provide some health benefits if you can do it
Basically, intermittent fasting (IF) is a way of eating in which you take periodic breaks from consuming any food. Usually the fast lasts 24 hours.
There are a number of different protocols; some call for alternating 24 hours of fasting with a 24-hour non-fasting period, others specify a 24-hour fast every “x” number of days, anywhere from four to seven.
There may be some evidence that IF provides some health benefits in humans such as improved body composition, lowered LDL cholesterol and weight loss.
But the research certainly isn’t conclusive.
It can be challenging, especially for the people around you if you’re the type of person who gets really irritable when they don’t eat.
It would take a short book to explain how to try IF. But luckily someone’s written that book.
John Berardi and the team at Precision Nutrition have experimented with six different IF protocols and put together a free PDF that details how to use IF.
Berardi is a world-renowned nutrition expert so you can trust the information he’s providing. If you’re interested in trying out IF I highly recommend you use this resource. Simply click on the link below.
