Premier Vancouver designer labels 50–90% off

Nifty for Fifty sale

Put the brakes on outlet shopping, and pick up Vancouver designer labels at Nifty for Fifty sale, April 17–18

With the soaring loonie and approaching long weekend, some of us may be contemplating a cross-border road trip to the outlets. But wait! There is a much better alternative to releasing about 60 kilograms of CO2 into the atmosphere in exchange for cookie-cutter, mass-produced fare. Hang on until April 17 and you’ll be able to get outlet-scale savings while supporting local fashion design talents.

That’s right—the Nifty for Fifty sale is back! On April 17 and 18, shop an exceptional range of original creations from our own backyard. Every item is $50 or under (jaw-dropping translation: 50–90% off!). What's more, select vendors will also be offering rare vintage finds.

Participating designers and boutiques include such local favourites as the always bold and colourful Adhesif Clothing (the gorgeous Juniper Jumper pictured will be on sale for $45—I kid you not!), the whimsical Carny Love, the vintage-glam Dotted Loop, the Gastown gem Planet Claire, the Native art-inspired Kulus Designs, the alternative-chic Flaming Angels, the something-for-any-occasion Clutch Jewels, the wonderfully handcrafted Catalyst Reaction, the artfully transformative Dahlia Drive, the pin-up flirty creampuff by gg and more!

3rd annual Nifty for Fifty sale

Where: Five-Sixty, 560 Seymour St., Vancouver

When: Saturday, April 17, 11–6 p.m. & Sunday, April 18, 12–5 p.m.

Admission is free. Don’t forget to bring your reusable shopping bags!

“It’s definitely a cost-effective way to update your spring wardrobe,” says Melissa Ferreira, event coordinator and designer of Adhesif Clothing. “It’s a chance to score unique designer creations and vintage treasures for a deal—it can’t get any better than that!”

This sounds like a good way to get the ladies to clear out their wardrobe and shop for a brand new one. Now if only shoes are included, then the wardrobe would be complete.

As the top of the article lists different dates than the bottom, could you please confirm whether the sale will be held on the 17th-18th, or the 18-19th? Thanks!

Thanks for your question. Here's the answer from Nicole, the publicity manager for the event: "It really is whatever the designers decide to bring in. From past years, there has been a good range of XS-L. I know Adhesif always has a nice range of sizes available."
