New adventures and holiday favourites await families and friends at Vancouver's North Pole

At Grouse Mountain, they take the holiday season very seriously. While Vancouverites can only dream of a white Christmas down at sea level, visitors to the Peak of Vancouver get to experience winter magic at Vancouver’s North Pole.

Magical elves have been hard at work to ensure the holiday spirit is alive and well throughout the Peak of Christmas celebration, which runs from November 27th through January 4th. Guests can enjoy a variety of holiday activities perfect for the young and young-at-heart. Santa and two of his (real) reindeer are the centre pieces of the experience.

Vancouver’s own winter wonderland

New this winter, experience a magical Light Walk. Be awestruck by the glow of light against a majestic mountain backdrop. Walk amongst the fir and spruce trees at Blue Grouse Lake where stunning light installations shine bright on a winter’s night. From a light tunnel to lanterns, marvel at the beauty as snow crunches under your feet. Winter boots or snowshoes (available to rent) are required for this outing.

Looking for more of a thrill? The new Sliding Zone is the perfect activity for the child in all of us! Experience the thrill of flying down a perfectly groomed path on a magic carpet, and feeling the cold mountain air against your face.

A winter favourite at the Peak of Vancouver is the 8,000-square-foot ice skating pond. Take a spin under the stars on the only outdoor mountaintop skating pond in the Lower Mainland. It’s an experience not to be missed.

Believe again in the magic of the holiday season

Looking for an unforgettable experience? Start your day off with festive fun by treating your family to breakfast with the big man in red himself. Now a time-honoured tradition at the Peak of Christmas celebration, Breakfast with Santa will be featured in Lupins Café and Altitudes Bistro. Families can enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet and visit with Santa Claus, partake in face painting and enjoy a magic show!

Santa will also be greeting visitors in his workshop – don’t forget to share your holiday wishes and have your photo taken with him. And be sure to stop in next door and visit his reindeer as they prepare for their Christmas Eve journey.

Experience the warmth of the holidays in the mountaintop Chalet

Both the young and young-at-heart will enjoy wandering through the charming Gingerbread Village in support of the B.C. chapter of SOS Children’s Villages. Be sure to vote for your favourite sweet creation before you leave.

Get cozy in the Theatre in the Sky and take in a Christmas classic on the big screen or enjoy a variety of holiday entertainment in the Peak Chalet, including the joyous sounds of the VOC Sweet Soul Gospel Choir.

One thing is for certain: even the grumpiest Grinch or most cynical Scrooge doesn’t leave Vancouver’s North Pole without having their faith in the spirit of Christmas restored!
