Experience: Golden Skybridge
Cost: Starting from $31 (adults) and $20 (children)
Location: 503 Golden Donald Upper Road, Golden, B.C.
Bucket list factor: You live in B.C., a.k.a beautiful British Columbia. You're surrounded by breathtaking mountains, lush forests and rugged coastlines—no matter where you are in the province, there's spectacular natural beauty. So, why drive more than seven hours from Vancouver to be suspended 400 feet in the air and pay for it? Let us explain.
The Golden Skybridge is home to two of Canada’s highest suspension bridges and offers incredible views of the surrounding Purcell and Rocky Mountains, Edelweiss Creek, and a 61-metre towering waterfall. Spanning the vast canyon, the first of two bridges comes in at 130 metres high and 150 metres long; while the second bridge is 80 metres high and 140 metres long. It's safe to say this adventure isn't for the faint of heart, but it's a wonderful personal challenge to those who want an experience like no other.
Beyond the canyon walk, Golden Skybridge offer a variety of unique activities for the whole family to enjoy, including a sky-high zipline, a canyon treetop course, a canyon swing, axe-throwing, a climbing wall and a rail rider mountain coaster (opening spring 2023).
While it's not quite a day trip from Vancouver, Golden Skybridge is a pretty good reason to venture out east in the province. Plus, it's a great place to stop if you're on your way to Alberta.
Tickets for general admission (bridge walk only) start from $31 for adults and $20 for children. Adventure passes (includes general admission, canyon edge course, sky zipline, axe-throwing and climbing wall) start from $55 for adults and $47 for children, and you are required to pre-book an arrival time online.
