2. Beaucoup Bakery

Get spooky this Halloween with sweet treats from Beaucoup Bakery like monster bonbons (box of six for $24). 3. Downlow Burgers

For one day only on October 31st, Downlow Burgers‘ popular Monster Mash makes a return. The Halloween dinner features a dry aged beef patty, boneless fried chicken thigh (spiced medium), slabs of crispy fried pork belly, house jalapeño ranch, Canadian cheddar, lettuce and tomato.

This Halloween head to Glowbal and try out a variety of themed cocktails, including the Zombie ($18), with Goslings black seal rum, absinthe, house-made falernum, pineapple juice, lime, pink grapefruit and grenadine; a Maple Roasted Pear Mule ($15), with Stoli vodka, maple roasted pear lime juice, maple syrup and fresh ginger beer; and a RIP Smoke Pick Me Up ($18), with Kahlua, espresso, spiced pumpkin foam, coffee bean and coffee smoke.

6. Temper Chocolate and Pastry

Created by Temper owner and lead chef Steven Hodge and his talented team of pastry chefs, new seasonal creations include novelty tricks and treats as well as full-sized baked goods to enjoy with the whole family at home. The signature lineup includes a chocolate pumpkin ($35), a small hollow chocolate pumpkin available in milk or dark chocolate, airbrushed in bright orange with decorative edible foliage and filled with miniature chocolates; Halloween frictures (125 grams for $9), a bag filled with assorted bite-sized chocolates in spooktacular ghost, tombstone and skull shapes; and chocolate lollipops (small for $3.75, and large for $5.50), available in milk or dark chocolate.

7. Kafka

Kafka pastry chef Adi Kesslemen is up to some sweet tricks this Halloween with treats that will leave you spellbound. The themed goodies include ‘Spooky Chocolate Cupcakes’ ($4.25), with a salted caramel centre, Swiss meringue buttercream frosting and decorated in Halloween colours; Halloween sugar cookies ($3.50), shaped and dressed up as bats, pumpkins and ghosts; and ‘Spider Web Alfajores’ ($3), featuring dulce de leche sandwiched between two melt-in-your-mouth cookies adorned with dark chocolate webs.

From the Viaggio Hospitality Group, their ‘Boos and Booze’ Halloween cocktail features are sure to get you in the mood this season…

Ancora Ambleside lead bartender Katie Slacks has created a ‘Creature of the Night’ cocktail (available October 31st) that will look right back at you as you clink glasses this Halloween, and features Casamigos mescal, Cazadores tequila, plum liqeur, ginger honey syrup, lemon and pineapple star anise bitters. From their False Creek location, bartender Matt Spring’s ‘Vampire Kiss’ feature—also available October 31st—includes pisco, house-made Nikkei syrup, Angostura bitters, pumpkin pie essence and more to leave you feeling mesmerized. 

Toast the season with terrifying film-inspired cocktails at Cibo Trattoria and Uva this Halloween. The team have combined forces to pay homage to their personal favourite Halloween classics, which include ‘Georgie’s Nightmare’ and ‘The Carrie White’ (with nods to Stephen King classics It and Carrie respectively, and a ‘Bacon Bourbon Barber’ inspired by Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd (available October 24th to 31st).

Available in-store and online, Chez Christophe‘s Halloween collection features skull and ghost lollipops made of milk and dark chocolate, and two signature showstopper pieces: the ‘Mummy’, made from entirely 29 percent white chocolate, with a 63.6 percent dark chocolate base, and the ‘Jester’ made from 63.6 percent dark chocolate with a 29 percent white chocolate base.

10. Buttermere Patisserie

Created with fall and winter flavours in mind, the team at Buttermere Patisserie have put together a ‘Team Spooky’ Halloween gift box ($60), featuring a sesame sponge with cherry compote, sesame hazelnut praline and sesame mousse wicked witch, a caramelized apple, vanilla mousse, chestnut cream and buttercream bandage mummy biscuit, and more! Buttermere has also created two cakes designed after the popular Netflix series Squid Game ($65). Both unmistakably visual representations of the gripping series, the ‘Masked Cake’ is a sesame hazelnut praline cake that features shapes presented on the players’ invitations and the game guard masks, while the ‘Player’s Casket’ is a twisted take on a traditional tiramisu, directly displaying the eventual fate of all but one playerdeath.
