2. Coastal Dance Festival – Thursday, March 2 to Sunday March 5

hris-RandlePhoto credit: Chris RandleDancers of Damelahamid (an Indigenous dance company from B.C.) will host the 16th annual Coastal Dance Festival, honouring Indigenous stories, song, and dance from the Northwest Coast, Canada, and around the world. In celebration of reciprocity between global Indigenous communities, this year’s festival will support a cultural exchange with New Zealand, with the festival debut of New Zealand Indigenous performing artist Rosie Te Rauawhea Belvie. In addition, Coastal Dance Festival’s signature evening series will feature an exclusive excerpt by Dancers of Damelahamid from their next full-length work Raven Mother, as well as performances from many other artists.

3. Black Space Jam – Friday, March 3

Brotha JasonBrotha JasonThe Black Space Jam (BSJ) is a live performance showcase that provides local and international artists of African Descent a platform to share and promote their artwork, with the intention to amplify and celebrate Black creatives and the Black Experience. The theme of this BSJ is cultural renaissance, and features dance, spoken word, standup comedy, music, and a live DJ. The event will also host various culturally relevant vendors selling their locally made goods.

4. The Outdoor Travel & Adventure Show – Friday, March 4 to Saturday, March 5

5. Broadway Across Canada – Tuesday, March 7 to Sunday, April 7

PrettyPretty WomanThis month, the Broadway Across Canada touring production will be bringing two musical favourites to the Queen Elizabeth stage. Running from March 7 to 12, and inspired by the beloved film, the romantic and adventure-filled new musical Anastasia transports audiences from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. With hit songs and catchy dance numbers, this is a great one for the whole family.
From Wednesday, March 29 to April 2, one of Hollywood’s most beloved romantic films of all time is brought to life in Pretty Woman. Led by two-time Tony Award®-winning director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell, the show features an original score by Grammy® winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance.
