1. Sol Fiesta Mexico – Saturday, May 4

3. BrickCan – Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5

The province’s largest public exhibition of Lego creations features hundreds of models built by fans from all over the world. Visitors can shop at unique Lego vendors or get imaginative in the BrickCan Creation Station.

4. B.C. Cider Festival – Sunday, May 5

Taste tipples from more than 30 cideries, including ones from B.C., the Pacific Northwest and all around the world. Raising funds for the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation, the third annual tasting event also includes an outdoor area with food trucks and live music.

5. BMO Vancouver Marathon – Sunday, May 5

Take part in the race, cheer on the brave souls attempting the 8 km, relay, half or full marathon, or simply avoid the road closures this Sunday when the BMO Vancouver Marathon (aka the stunning running course) comes to the city.

6. DISH – Wednesday, May 8

Drink. Indulge. Savour. Help. This event features 11 Vancouver restaurants and more than 30 wineries from California, Washington, Oregon and New Mexico. Live music, a silent auction and a cocktail competition will take place, with all proceeds from the fundraiser going to the B.C. Hospitality Foundation, which provides assistance for hospitality workers in financial crisis due to extraordinary medical circumstances.

7. Paper Jam – Tuesday, May 6

10. FUSE: Gestures – Friday, May 10

Harness the power of gesture in various creative forms and expressions at this late-night gallery party. Presented in dialogue with the gallery’s spring exhibitions, the event features artists—including headliner Evy Jane—who alter perception and focus on an awareness of the body and the self through diverse experiences and encounters.
