1. Farmers’ Harvest menu at Wildebeest — Until Wednesday, September 18

Wildebeest continues showcasing its ever-growing family of farm providers across the province with the Farmers’ Harvest menu. A family-style tasting experience meant to be shared by the entire table, the menu consists of five vegetable-forward dishes and is available for $60 per person, plus tax and gratuity, with optional beverage pairings available for $32 and up per person. As the feature menu is available in limited quantities on a first-come, first-served basis in addition to Wildebeest’s regular nightly menu, reservations are strongly recommended.

2. Strathcona Artisan Market — Saturday, September 7

Strathcona Artisan Market is an economic initiative started by a group of Downtown Eastside residents wanting to create an accessible, low barrier market for neighbourhood creatives. The market will feature local artisan and handmade goods, snacks and drinks for purchase, as well as free kids’ activities, artist workshops and live music.

3. East Van Block Party — Saturday, September 7

Held in a back alley just off Clark and Charles, this new block party will feature live music from bands all day, a DJ, a beer garden, a dab truck, a soccer tournament, food and fundraising opportunities for Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver.

4. Bike the Night — Saturday, September 7

Vancouver’s city streets are car-free on Saturday night for the annual Bike the Night, when 5,000 riders take to the roads for a nighttime pedal, with music and disco lights along the way. Starting and ending at Sunset Beach.

5. Comedy Pants — Saturday, September 7

CBC Next Up winner Alistair Ogden hosts a selection of Vancouver’s best and brightest comedians in the cozy confines of the Avant-Garden. Arrive early or buy a ticket in advance to guarantee a seat.

6. Luxury and Supercar Weekend — Saturday, September 7 & Sunday, September 8

Luxury and Supercar Weekend returns for its 10th year with a carefully curated selection of the world’s most luxurious and collectible automobiles, including the official Canadian public launch of the 2020 Pagani Huayra BC, Pininfarina Battista, Porsche 992, Karma Revero GT, Bentley Continental GT, Jaguar XE Project 8, Range Rover SV Autobiography, McLaren GT and the national premiere of a unique-to-Canada BMW. Canada’s only multi-million-dollar, live luxury and supercar auction will also feature pop-up bars and lounges, a supercar condo pavilion, Richard Mille watches, Garrison bespoke tailor shop, a Japanese auto garden, Hublot Diamond Rally display and Porsche Rally display.

7. Westward Music Festival — Thursday, September 12 to Sunday, September 15

Taking place in multiple venues across the city, and spanning various genres, Westward Music Festival brings four days of international acts to Vancouver. Japanese rapper Joji, American singer-songwriter Lissie, Australian new-folk band the Paper Kites, and Brooklyn’s MC Leikeli47 will be amongst the headliners, with plenty of up-and-coming indie bands to check out too.

8. Labyrinth Art Night — Friday, September 13

ACME Studios opens its doors for an annual September open house, which features art, artists and, of course, a labyrinth! DJs and drinks will be on hand while you explore the spaces of over 40 artists, three galleries full of art and other surprises.

9. 2019 Mid-Autumn Moon Festival — Friday, September 13

Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden celebrates the connection between tea, art and the moon. Taste six types of Chinese tea, enjoy mooncakes and music, and make your own lantern. This year’s celebration will also feature a tea poetry contest and the opening of Lam Wong’s year-long artist residency at the Garden.

10. Cheese and Meat Festival — Saturday, September 14

No surprises what’s going on here… expect plenty of cheese, meat and artisan alcohol to try at this delicious festival. Tasting sessions are two hours and each guest receives a small charcuterie board on entry (to use here and take home), plus informative seminars enrich the experience too.
