From Real Housewife returns to country music congrats, we round up our top 10 shows to watch this week

1. Mindhunter – Netflix

From big screen to small, you’d be forgiven for thinking the serial killer genre has been done to death. But if there’s one artist who’s proven time and again he can put a stylish, evocative spin on grisly murder, it’s David Fincher, director of such macabre masterpieces as Seven, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Zodiac. Now, with this 10-part offering based on the true-crime book of the same name, he’s venturing back to before anyone had even spoken the words “serial killer,” let alone started trying to understand them.

Set in the 1970s, Fincher and showrunner Joe Penhall introduce us to fictional feds Holden Ford (Looking‘s Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Blue Bloods‘ Holt McCallany)—two outsiders within the FBI who become unexpected pioneers in profiling, while the rest of the bureau is still stuck in the past, teaching decades-old methodologies better suited for nabbing the likes of John Dillinger than the Son of Sam. Nominally, Ford and Tench are tasked with heading around the country conducting interagency seminars with police forces; but in secret, they begin taking the opportunity to interview so-called “sequence killers” in the local prisons, climbing inside the minds of inscrutable murderers, asking questions no one else thought to ask. And of course, when you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.

2. The Real Housewives of Atlanta – Sunday, November 5, 5 p.m. & 8 p.m., Slice | Season Premiere

The long-running reality show launches a 10th season of over-the-top antics as returning cast members Cynthia Bailey, Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, Porsha Williams and Shereé Whitfield are joined by former star NeNe Leakes, who rejoins the Real Housewives universe after wrapping up her one-woman comedy tour. While business may be booming for all the housewives, friendships are on the line when the old are threatened by the new and loyalties are put into question. Meanwhile, Williams embraces her newfound veganism, while newlywed Moore juggles her growing beauty empire and new marriage.

3. Bob’s Burgers – Sunday, November 5, 7:30 p.m., City & FOX

Tina has big plans to start a babysitting business, but things change when her nemesis (voiced by SNL alum Jenny Slate) is hired to work the same gig. Meanwhile, Bob and Linda discover they’ve got some competition in the burger-flippin’ biz and head out to see what they’re up against.

4. Shameless – Sunday, November 5, 8 p.m., TMN1 | Season Premiere

We’re going to see a different Frank Gallagher this season, one who’s actually out to make amends for his past decisions and indiscretions, believe it or not. Similarly, his eldest daughter/glue-holding-his-family-together Fiona is trying to grow up, both in her personal life (by hooking up less) and in her professional one (by becoming a landlord), while Lip is attempting to act in a more mature fashion himself. With everyone trying to find themselves, will they still have time to keep screwing up each other’s lives? Count on it.

5. Ride with Norman Reedus – Sunday, November 5, 8 p.m.; Monday, November 6, 6 p.m. & Midnight, AMC | Season Premiere

Without question, fans’ love for The Walking Dead‘s Harley-riding, crossbow-sporting Daryl Dixon extends to the actor behind the character, as Norman Reedus has been known to enthusiastically pop up at many fan events and supposedly has a personality not entirely dissimilar from the walker-slayer he plays. Given all this, it was really a no-brainer for AMC to commission a reality series following Reedus doing what he’s most passionate about: riding motorcycles around the country and meeting with fans and fellow bike enthusiasts to discuss all the latest and greatest in riding culture.

This week, the second season of that series debuts with a special two-hour, two-night debut that kicks off in Spain. There, Reedus will be joined by co-star Jeffrey Dean Morgan (a.k.a. Negan). Throughout the rest of the season, he’ll also share the road with the likes of comedian Dave Chappelle in Savannah, Georgia and celeb chef Mario Batali in New York.

6. Rolling Stone: Stories from the Edge – Monday, November 6, 8 p.m. & 12:05 a.m.; Tuesday, November 7, 8 p.m. & Midnight; HBO Canada

Anyone who has ever picked up an issue of Rolling Stone knows it is so much more than a music magazine, a point that’s driven home in great detail in a new documentary airing this week on HBO. In this four-hour production, filmmakers Alex Gibney (Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief) and Blair Foster (George Harrison: Living in the Material World) call forth 50 years worth of music, U.S. and world events and political and cultural movements, all as covered by the writers and the words of Rolling Stone magazine.

The documentary is full of stories and clips of vintage musical performances—by Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Ike and Tina Turner, the Clash and Ice-T—but also looks at Rolling Stone‘s coverage of the major events of the last 50 years, including the ascent of Donald Trump and the University of Virginia rape case, a story that caused the magazine much embarrassment.

7. Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour – Wednesday, November 8, 7:01 p.m. & 11:04 p.m.; A&E | Season Premiere

Rob Lowe isn’t the only one who gets to take his sons on special, A&E-funded adventures for national TV. Ozzy Osbourne and his boy Jack are back for a second season of (mis-)adventures with the return of this travelogue, in which they pack their bags and hit the road, travelling from Florida to Alaska and stopping to meet a plethora of people in between.

If the previews are any indication, we can expect a wide range of random activities, from the pair donning space suits, tackling police dogs, staying in teepees and even forgetting the words to the American national anthem.

8. Frontline – Wednesday, November 8, 7 p.m. & 1:30 a.m., WTVS; 10 p.m., KCTS

Using Superstorm Sandy as a jumping-off point, NPR investigates the lives of hurricane victims—many of whom were left homeless—as they struggle to deal with the storm’s disastrous effects while various agencies and companies reap profits at their expense.

9. The 51st Annual CMA Awards – Wednesday, November 8, 8 p.m., CTV2 & ABC

Taylor Swift may be very much in the pop realm of music now, but she hasn’t forgotten her country roots… and country hasn’t forgotten her. In the week when her new album Reputation is scheduled to drop, the superstar singer-songwriter is among the nominees in the 51st Annual CMA Awards. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood reunite to host the event for the 10th time, from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

10. Scandal – Friday, November 10, Netflix

With new episodes debuting weekly, the Emmy-winning political drama sees its seventh season drop on the streaming service. Hang up your white trench and grab a glass of red. Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) will handle the rest.
