Wine by Sign for Mother’s Day

As you search for the perfect wine for Mother's Day, keep her astrological sign in mind

As you search for the perfect wine for Mother’s Day, keep her astrological sign in mind

This Mother’s Day, while thinking about a last-minute gift for Mom, look no further than her astrology sign. We’ve partnered with local Vancouver tarot and metaphysical studio, The Good Spirit, to assign one of the four astrological elements to four wines based on unique characteristics and tasting notes.

1. Earth signs

Is your mom a Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn? These signs—graced by the element of Earth—are practical, grounded and dependable, just like a bottle of Jackson-Triggs Sauvignon Blanc. Jackson-Triggs Sauvignon Blanc is a refreshing, easy to sip, crisp wine with aromas of grass and lime. It is the wine you want to be reaching for while celebrating your down-to-earth mom.

2. Air signs

Gemini, Libra and Aquarius signs fall under the element of Air. That means your mom is communicative, creative, intelligent and great at expressing her emotions. For Mother’s Day this year, give your mom a bottle of Inniskillin Pinot Grigio. This medium-bodied white has notes of passionfruit, lemon zest and pineapple. It’s as fresh and mouth-watering as they come!

3. Fire signs

Fire signs Aries, Leo and Sagittarius are spontaneous, passionate and dynamic. If your mom is grouped under the element of Fire, she is bold with a tremendous zest for life. Robert Mondavi Private Selection Cabernet Sauvignon is a sweet, floral red with a rich, full-bodied flavour. The smoky oak aromas are a perfect match for your mom’s fiery personality.

4. Water signs

If your mom is a Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces, she falls under the element of Water. Mothers graced by the Water sign are nurturing and always focused on taking care of others, so why not give mom a break this Mother’s Day and take care of her? Offer your mom a glass of Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Chardonnay. It is the perfect rich and creamy wine that she can indulge in on her day off.

These wines are available for purchase at B.C. liquor stores, while The Good Spirit is located at 309 Cambie Street, Vancouver.
