New Zealand's Hamilton Botanical Garden
Share another departure back in time with me: During my trip to New Zealand last December, I visited the Hamilton Botanical Garden on The Northern Island. One of the highlights of their tour of historical-garden themes is the formal English perennial garden.
Admittedly, this is one of my favourite landscape styles and it has influenced how we developed our perennial border in our back yard. This style of garden is a perfect example of designing for nature – many of the perennials and plants used are also bird and bee magnets.
Add a water feature and this provides a drink for thirsty wildlife, bees included! See how you can create your own version of an English garden paradise and help the environment at the same time.
