Whistler’s Araxi Restaurant and Oyster Bar capped off summer in a most delectable way

The second of a two-part summer al fresco dinner series, Araxi Longtable took place on September 5 at the picturesque North Arm Farm in Pemberton B.C. Set amongst the foliage and sprawling mountains of the valley town, over 200 guests dined at one long table (the longest table at the farm to date).

The sunny evening at North Arm Farm kicked off with passed appetizers and a cocktail hour. Araxi’s Chef James Walt created a seasonably inspired, locally focused, four-course feast that redefined the farm-to-table concept.

Each course was paired with Le Vieux Pin and LaStella wines, chosen by 2013 Sommelier of the Year, Samantha Rahn.

The Menu

The elevated, yet informal, four-course meal consisted of family-style platters with relaxed wine service. The menu was full of seasonal, local ingredients, and prepared in a nearby outdoor kitchen. Guests began the meal with Seared B.C. Albacore Tuna (with notable pairing Le Vieux Pin ‘Ava’ 13), followed by Dungeness Crab Stuffed Squash Blossoms.
