Trend Alert: The Best Orange Lipsticks for Spring 2014

Vancouver makeup artist Cindy Leyland picks her favourite orange lipsticks for spring

Pucker up with this citrus hue

There’s one major makeup trend that everyone’s buzzing about this year: orange lips. From New York Fashion Week runways to the Golden Globes red carpet, orange and corals are all the rage right now. And the best part about orange is it can be worn by anyone, anywhere – you don’t have to have a runway to strut down to pull off an orange pout.

BCLiving caught up with Vancouver makeup artist Cindy Leyland to find out her favourite orange lipsticks and tips on how to wear this fresh, hot colour:

  • Keep the rest of your makeup neutral in colour, especially if it is a very bold shade of orange
  • Stick with champagnes, taupes and bronzy colours for eyes or maybe just a simple black cat eyeliner
  • Warm up the complexion with a little bronzer is always a nice complement
