Age: 20
Occupation: Student

What makes you a strong candidate?
I’m really good at reading people. I’ve seen the show enough times to know other people’s mistakes.

What are your biggest pet peeves?
Unhygienic people. I’m really messy, but I’m not dirty. I think there’s a difference.

What’s the most annoying thing about you?
Maybe my sarcastic sense of humour? I make a lot of sarcastic jokes, and sometimes my friends tell me they don’t understand I’m being sarcastic and I can come off as a bitch.

What would you do with $100,000?
Pay off my student loans and travel. I also want to start a business. You know how you can rent cars and things, and you can rent stuff for birthdays and events? Well, I want to have a business where you can rent puppies.

If you could leave the Big Brother house with love, fame, or money, which would you choose?
Love. Hopefully they live in BC though!

What do you think is good strategy?
Having an alliance with someone, but acting like you hate them. I’ve only seen that once, in season 4, and they got to the end. Knowing when to throw competitions, too. Just not getting any blood on your hands.

Age: 21
Occupation: Make-up Artist

Why do you want to be on Big Brother?
Well, I’ve been a big fan ever since season 1. I also like taking opportunities; I don’t like letting them pass me by.

What are your biggest pet peeves?
People who chew with their mouths open. People who don’t pick up after themselves in the bathroom – that’s just disgusting. I’d probably vote them off just for that.

What would you do with $100,000?
After paying off my student loans, I’d probably take a trip back home because none of my family lives here.

If you could leave the Big Brother house with love, fame, or money, which would you choose?
I’m going to say money.

What do you think is a good strategy?
I wouldn’t want to come off too strong at first, because I’ve seen people go in who are cocky and think they can win all the competitions, and as soon as they lose one they get voted out. So I would wouldn’t want to win anything in the beginning, then come on strong later on.

Sonia

City: Nanaimo, BC
Age: 25
Occupation: Recent Graduate

Why do you want to be on Big Brother?
I love new challenges, that’s all. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to do it for the money, but mostly for the challenges.

What’s the most annoying thing about you?
Sometimes I talk a lot, so they might find that irritating. I can’t handle silence and I can’t be quiet for too long; I’m always fidgeting around and if I’m not talking with my mouth, I’m all over the place with my expressions and stuff.

What would you do with $100,000?
I’d travel all over the world with that money. That’s the only thing running through my mind.

Are you single? If the opportunity presented itself, would you consider a “showmance”?
I am, but I don’t know if I would. It depends on the person, because I’m more independent, and I sort of like my freedom and I don’t like people telling me what to do, or the controlling types, so I think I’d most likely prefer to be alone right now.

Describe yourself in three words.
Bubbly, loud, and real.

Nathaniel

City: Victoria, BC
Age: 34
Occupation: Works for the Coast Guard

Why do you want to be on Big Brother?
I think I could win it. It’s right up my alley; I’m not really big into reality television shows, but this is the first one that really grabbed me.

What do you think makes you a strong candidate?
I get along well with people, I’m pretty physical, and I like strategy. Put those three together and I think that should work out pretty well.

What would you do with $100,000?
My girlfriend and I would really like to get a piece of property and start some sort of eco retreat. A hundred grand isn’t a lot, but it’s something to start.

Describe yourself in three words.
Confident, inquisitive, and relaxed.

Do you have any unique talents you’re particularly proud of?
I can read people fairly well. I can also hold my breath for over three minutes. I have really big lungs and used to do triathlons pretty hardcore.

Siarrah

City: Vancouver, BC
Occupation: Nanny, temp receptionist, and other odd jobs

Why do you want to be on Big Brother?
Honestly, the reason I have all these odd jobs is because I’m a filmmaker, so I’m kind of hoping that if I win the money, I’d be able to cover the expenses. That’s the main gist, but I’ve also always loved the show and have been interested in being on it. Really though, for me it’s more about the money.

What do you think makes you a strong candidate?
I think I’m a little bit relatable, considering I’m going in this wanting to provide for something I’m interested in, which I think a lot of people can get. I also think I can be very funny, I’m very outgoing and I don’t have a problem saying it as it is, which I think is exactly what they’re looking for.

What are your biggest pet peeves?
I hate bigotry big time, so I think the one thing to make me go off would be any sort of hatred toward any kind of race, or any kind of sexism.

Are you single? If the opportunity presented itself, would you consider a “showmance”?
Yes, I am single, but I wouldn’t consider a “showmance.” Usually people who end up hooking up in the house end up being huge targets, because once you have someone to support you, people want to cut you apart. I’m more interested in the money than the love aspect.

If you could leave the Big Brother house with only one, would you take love, fame, or money?
Oh, the money. Definitely the money. That’s an easy one.

Ellen

City: Pemberton, BC
Occupation: Earls Waitress

What are your biggest pet peeves?
When people don’t put the toilet seat down and when they don’t put the cap back on the toothpaste. That’s super irritating. Or when they don’t do their own dishes . . . I could go on and on.

What’s the most annoying thing about you?
I probably talk too much. I’m not a good morning person; I suck in the morning. My boyfriend doesn’t talk to me for the first few hours, and then I’m more approachable. So if they make you get up early, that could be an issue.

What would you do with $100,000?
I would pay off my truck. I have a brand new Dodge, so that would get paid off instantly, and then I’d probably go on vacation.

Are you single?
No. Well, no.

If you could leave the Big Brother house with only one, would you take love, fame, or money?
Definitely the money.

Steve

City: Whistler, BC
Occupation: Bartender

Are you a big fan of the show?
Yea, definitely. I’m into most competition shows.

What do you think makes you a strong candidate?
I’m a game player, for sure. I think I know the game very well.

What are your biggest pet peeves?
I probably find dirty dishes to be the worst thing. Trying to cook when you wake up and the frying pan is filled with whatever and you can’t even use it is the worst.

What do you think people would find the most annoying about living with you?
(Laughs) I’m very confident. I have to tone that down.

What would you do with $100,000?
I would chill. Straight up chill. Chill for a bit, not work, take maybe six months off and just do whatever.
