Much better than instant pudding, with a decadent cookie crust
Nothing instant about this cream pie – easy homemade pudding in a baked cookie crust
I figured it would be a nice alternative to cake, and who doesn’t love chocolate pudding, especially when it’s homemade? Given I haven’t yet attempted a proper pie crust, the cookie crust in this recipe was appealing to me, and seemed pretty easy to make.
In fact, the entire recipe was pretty easy. I followed it almost to a T, but for the chocolate – I had semi-sweet, not bittersweet. It turned out fine though, and it wasn’t overly sweet at all. The cookie crust was a crowd favourite, and the pie itself it looks pretty impressive, at least my friends thought so.
They also seemed pretty happy to take some of the leftovers home. And I was happy to eat a piece for breakfast the next day.
