applecentrepiece_5a.jpg Wedge the floral foam firmly into the pot and add most of the greenery before securing the apples with skewers. applecentrepiece_5b.jpg For this arrangement Maureen used skimmia, one of her favourite plants. "Skimmia is easy to grow and long-lasting in displays. In spring it produces delicate white flowers on female plants and in fall the red berries are quite lovely." applecentrepiece_5c.jpg Once the apples have been placed, fill in any spaces with extra greenery and berries to complete the arrangement, which makes a gorgeous centrepiece for a Christmas table. Add a small jar of honey and it makes a great gift for Jewish New Year, too, suggests Maureen.
