Dancers of Damelahamid present the 17th annual Coastal Dance Festival, honouring Indigenous stories, song, and dance from across Canada and around the world, March 1-3, 2024 at the Anvil Centre. Highlights include the exclusive short preview of Dancers of Damelahamid’s upcoming full-length work, Raven Mother, created in honour of the late Elder Margaret Harris, co-founder of Dancers of Damelahamid, set to make its world premiere in October 2024  at The Cultch. Considered the company’s most ambitious production to date, Raven Mother is the culmination of generations of artistic and cultural work and speaks to Harris’ indelible legacy. The three-day festival will also showcase a dynamic line up of regional artists, including audience favourites: Chinook Song Catchers, Dakhká Khwáan Dancers, and Rainbow Creek Dancers, among many others. New Zealand’s Karena Koria, who last performed at Coastal Dance Festival in 2010, will return as one half of Turongo Collective, together with his wife, Milly Grant-Koria. Tickets from $25.
