Sweet and pretty Easter-themed treats abound this year in Vancouver

For those with a sweet tooth, there is no better time of year than Easter. Whether you’re looking for pretty chocolate creations, pastel-coloured confections or classic hot cross buns, here are some of the city’s best places to fill up your basket with Easter goodies.

Hot cross buns are an Easter staple – and Hawksworth’s Bel Café has some of the best buns in town (preorder from the café’s website to avoid missing out for $2.80 each). Or, for a less traditional treat, check out Bel Café’s Easter marshmallows, which come in lime, black currant and strawberry ($6 each) as well as the deliciously addictive milk chocolate almonds ($9.50).

Looking for some of the prettiest chocolates in town? Then check out Gem Chocolates in Kerrisdale. For their truffle-filled Easter egg, take your pick of dark, milk or white chocolate – or there’s even a vegan option made with coconut oil.
