Get a Fresh Boost at these Vancouver Juice Bars

The Juice is worth the squeeze at these Vancouver juice bars

If you’re looking to dump carbs and eat clean, juice is a tasty option. Juice bars are becoming ubiquitous in Vancouver, like yoga pants and bicycles and umbrellas. Fresh organic juices, smoothies, juice cleanse programs and wheatgrass shots (you know, the little grass-plant thing they have on the counter) are just some of the items you’ll find at these Vancouver juice bars.

Krokodile Pear

Since opening in 2013, Krokodile Pear‘s cold pressed organic juices and smoothies have garnered rave reviews. Located in the heart of Kitsilano, this new organic juice bar uses the cold press method of juicing, which retains the maximum amount of nutrients.

Whether you’re looking to kick-start your day with a Pacific Spirit juice (spinach, kale, parsley, romaine, cucumber, celery, apple, lime, ginger) or looking for some extra oomph with one of their shots (the Kicking Horse has lime, ginger and cayenne pepper), you’ll find it here. They also offer one-, three- and five-day house-made juice cleanses, featuring juices like The Chief (brazil nuts, hemp seeds, vanilla, coconut sugar, Himalayan rock salt and water).

The Local Lift Juice Bar

Located at the base of Mt. Seymour, Local Lift Juice Bar is becoming a Deep Cove favourite. Local Lift Juice Bar offers everything from freshly pressed juices like the Mojito Lift (apple, lime, mint) to locally inspired smoothies like the Baden-Powell Peanut Butter (almond milk, cocoa, banana and peanut butter). They also have a number of food selections for those feeling particularly peckish, including gluten-free baked goods, kale chips and the ever-popular Raw Burger. Local Lift also offers a 3-10 day cleanse program, which can help you reset your digestive system.

The Juice Truck

Vancouver has another claim to fame: the first ever mobile juice bar in Canada. The Juice Truck was born when the City of Vancouver decided to expand its food truck licenses back in 2011. Like many juice bars in the city, The Juice Truck offers cold-pressed juices, smoothies, shots and delicious food items including a daily salad from Culver City Salads.

The Juice Truck features everything from cold-pressed juices like The Classic (apple, carrot, beet, ginger) to The Aloe Green (pineapple, orange, spinach, mint, lemon, coconut water, aloe vera and Himalayan rock salt). They also recently launched a juice cleanse program, with some serious-sounding juices like Protein Milk (hemp seed, walnut, date, cinnamon, vanilla and filtered water).

Sejuiced

Sejuiced in lovely Kitsilano is a vegetarian and vegan restaurant that offers not only great food, but delicious juices as well. Try a “Vital Fluid” like the Cleansing Tonic (cabbage, carrot and apple), an “Energy Elixir” like Immune Boost (ginger, beet, carrot, apple, vitamin C, Echinacea and bee propolis), or a “Super Powershake” like the Chai Chiller (banana, chai, coconut milk and soymilk). Sejuiced also offers unique vegan “Yogi Bowls”, breakfast, and veggie burgers.

Mother’s Smoothie and Juice Bar

Heading back over to the North Shore, Mother’s Smoothie and Juice Bar offers fair trade and organic smoothies and juices. Mother’s smoothies are vegan-friendly and made without ice, sugar, syrups, chemicals or GMOs. They use water kefir (non-dairy, gluten-free probiotic) as a smoothie base. The juices at Mother’s are freshly squeezed, and if you have something particular in mind, you can “create your own juice” if you can’t pick one from their extensive menu. Mother’s also offers wheatgrass shots – one wheatgrass shot is equivalent to 1kg of leafy green vegetables.
