On Friday, June 3, 2016, more than 400 guests attended the Heart and Stroke Foundation BC/Yukon’s Hearts of Gold Gala presented by Goldcorp, raising $600,000 to support life-saving research, resources, support and programs for survivors and caregivers.

The gala, held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel began with a cocktail reception sponsored by Silver Wheaton and an opportunity to bid on silent auction items. Volunteers also roamed with raffle prize draws. The gala was emceed by Todd Talbot, W Network’s Love it or List It Vancouver co-host, and the auction was performed by Brad Scott, Maynards Auctioneers. Opening remarks were made by Adrienne Bakker, Heart and Stroke Foundation, BC & Yukon CEO; and Charlene Ripley, Goldcorp executive vice-president and general counsel. The evening ended with a raffle by Jason Bosa, Palladio Jewellers president, followed by dancing and a late-night buffet.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation supports more than 1.6 million Canadians living with heart disease or the effects of a stroke. Over the past 12 years, the Hearts of Gold Gala has raised $7 million.
