The icy outdoor decoration will last several days if the weather is cold enough

Curl pepper berry twigs into a Bundt pan, placing several of the bright berries around the sides and bottom. Fill with water and freeze for two days. The result is an exquisite icy outdoor decoration that lasts several days if the weather is cold enough. Use the same concept to create ice bucket candleholders: Take a large container and add some leaves and berries (not too many or the candlelight will be obscured). Half-fill the container with water, then position another weighted container in the centre to create the cavity. Top up the water if necessary. Place in the freezer for two days. Remove the smaller container, then the larger container (if necessary, pour some warm water over the outside of the large container to release the ice). Decorate with additional berries and place a candle inside. A selection of these, with candles glowing, make an intriguing decorative detail for outdoor steps.Styling by Heather Cameron
