Nourish Café and Cooking School Opens its Doors this June

Nourish Café and Cooking School opens its newest location this June

After two successful years on Granville Street, Nourish Vancouver has moved to its new location on the border of Kitsilano and Point Grey (10th and Alma). With a large 1,500-square-foot space, Nourish Café and Cooking School is a gathering place for all to enjoy and learn how to cook 100 per cent organic, globally-inspired dishes using the best in local ingredients.

Owner Dan Cheung says it has always been his mission, along with wife Abbey Pires, to celebrate high-quality, locally grown food with the community. “Nothing warms my heart more than to see people enjoying our food, and I am so excited now to share my love for local, organic, sustainable food in our cooking school.”

The 16-seat café’s menu includes Soba Noodle salads, organic soups, veggie sandwiches and many more healthy options. Beverages are also local, including cold-pressed juices from The Juice Box, an organic roast from East Van Roasters and Hoochy Booch Kombucha, a naturally fermented drink that turns tea and sugar into organic acids and enzymes.

Located in the back of the café, the open cooking school kitchen provides fun classes for adults and kids (8+) and inspires healthy eating. No need to bring anything, just be ready to leave with a full stomach and heart. Focusing on quality rather than quantity, the dishes are simple so you can recreate your own organic masterpiece at home. Classes for adults range from Italian, Asian, Middle Eastern as well as hand-painted macaron making, while kids can enjoy learning how to make dumplings, sushi and crêpes. A mini Farmers’ Market and playspace is also in the making for the young ones to understand and appreciate different ingredients.

And as if the food isn’t lovely enough, the interior is just as beautiful. Designed by Vancouver’s Studio Coalesce, the space is a modern take on a French farmhouse with lots of light, white-wash wood panelling, vintage windows and polished quartz countertops.

Visit Nourish at 3742 West 10th Street. Open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. Click here for cooking class information
