Ostrich Fern

The bright-green fronds originate from a tight centre and reach heights of 1.5 to 1.8 m (5 to 6 ft.), angling upward and outward to form a delicate and unmistakable vase shape.

Ostrich fern loves an organic soil in dappled shade, so if you have a dark corner in your garden you might try this one. It can create a fabulous effect when planted in large groupings. Hardy to zone 3, it prefers a slightly acidic and moist soil. As this one can really spread, give it lots of space and avoid planting by anything too dainty.
