Exciting retailers – some new to the Vancouver market – move into Pacific Centre mall

Vancouver’s style quotient just went up by a thousand with the grand opening of Pacific Centre’s new expansion. The downtown mall recently unveiled some truly lustworthy brands: AllSaints, Ted Baker London, Pandora, Kate Spade New York (pictured above) and several other major labels.

The renovation was three years in the making and adds 44,000 square feet of retail area (located on the lower level of the Robson and Granville corner) to Pacific Centre’s already sprawling 2.8 million square foot space.

In addition to the stores mentioned above, other tenants to this new space include Weekend Max Mara, Hugo Boss, TUMI and B2, which are all currently open. Opening later this summer/fall will be Microsoft, Rockport, Abercrombie & Fitch and The Disney Store.

Ted Baker London

The Ted Baker boutique is worth the trip if just for its ambience. It has charming fixtures, warm decor and is beautifully accessorized. And, of course, the clothes are dreamy, colourful, modern and whimsical. This season’s collection is dominated by a contemporary interpretation of oversized, super-saturated florals.

AllSaints

This is AllSaints’ first Canadian store outside Toronto, and only their second retail store to carry their complete “global brand collections,” that is both UK and U.S. collections. So you’ll see styles here that aren’t available at the Seattle location, and styles not in London.

Known for their edgy-meets-feminine styles and luscious leather jackets, AllSaints is for the shopper looking for unique, but not avant garde. They carry both men’s and women’s collections with a price range of about $100 to $800.

Hugo Boss

Best known for beautifully tailored menswear, Hugo Boss is upping the women’s collections significantly and steadily over the next few years in this location. “Every woman needs a power dress,” says Dawn Bellini, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Hugo Boss Canada (herself sporting a gorgeous power dress, natch). Look for nods towards menswear, like traditional patterns (checks and plaids) and precise tailoring, but don’t overlook feminine touches like hem-line details and strategically placed darts and notches.

Designed by the ever-fabulous Jason Wu, expect to see women’s clothes, handbags and shoes grow exponentially in this space.

Pandora

Best known for their trendsetting charm bracelets, Pandora carries a massive range of pretty jewellery, including rings, necklaces and earrings.

But if you’re obsessed with their charms (as many are), you’ve got more than 700 to choose from here. Sterling silver base bracelets are $75 with charms ranging from $30 to $100. 14K gold-base bracelets are $1800 with charms ranging $85 from $700.

Weekend Max Mara

With all the elegance and tailored details that we love about Max Mara, the Weekend collection offers comparable sophistication in more relaxed styles. Keep an eye out for metallics this fall/winter, along with textures like fur and brocade. Tees start at $180, dresses at $675 and jackets at $2,000.

The spring/summer collection (in the back of the store) is currently all on sale for 20 to 50 per cent off.
