How to survive Aritzia's biggest sale of the year and a sneak peek at what's in store
The annual Aritzia Warehouse Sale returns this Thursday, September 3 to Monday, September 7 at the Vancouver Convention Centre’s West Building (1055 Canada Place) with markdowns of 50 per cent to 90 per cent off original retail prices.
Expect spring/summer and fall/winter merchandise from popular Aritzia brands like Auxiliary, Wilfred, Community, Babaton, Paradise Mine, Parklife, Talula, TNA, and Sunday, plus a wide selection of denim, shoes, and accessories.
Check out the sale on one (or more) of the following dates and click through for our tips for shopping the sale—as well as pics of our top sale picks.
If it catches your eye, take it. For keen shoppers, few things are worse than “the one that got away”—especially when it’s 50 per cent to 90 per cent off the original price.
Doors open at 7 a.m., so head down early for the best picks of the bunch (plus a more organized and easy-to-browse space.) Previous years have seen lineups of dedicated shoppers begin in the wee hours of the morning.
Dress in light layers with clothes and shoes that slip on and off easily to ensure easy try-ons of your finds. Consider more modest undergarments as well—all fitting rooms are communal so you’ll essentially be changing in a crowd of people.
If you can, opt for a small purse (something with a cross-body strap is best) or no purse at all to avoid bag check at the door. The faster you can get shopping, the better!
Aritzia carries many classic pieces that return season after season. Look for staples like jeans, coats, and shirt dresses. If you already have (and love) some of these items, consider adding a different colour or pattern to your collection.
If you have the energy, come back for another go. New merchandise will be added to the floor multiple times each day. Stick around for a while or drop by another time to snag something that wasn’t available previously.
They say one woman’s trash is another woman’s treasure, so be sure to look on the racks once you’re in the fitting room. What didn’t fit someone else may just be perfect for you.
Sure, shorts might not be on your fall shopping list, but where you’ll find the best deals are on items that aren’t currently in season.
Parking is not only hard to find, but also very expensive in Coal Harbour. Ditch your car and avoid the stress. The calmer you are, the better your shopping experience will be.
The communal fitting room is definitely a little tight, but you’ll find that most shoppers are courteous and happy to offer their feedback on what you’re trying on.
