Invest in good sheets

“Start with a beautiful white canvas. I personally opt for Rothman & Co. sheets because of their superior quality and I love that they are made in Canada. We splurged on their Isabelle tufted bed, and I’ve used the Seth Organic 100 per cent Egyptian Cotton Percale for our bedroom. I seriously love how soft and crisp these linens are.”

Splurge on fresh blooms

“Freshly cut florals (mine are from The Flower Factory) are a lovely sight to wake up to every morning. It’s amazing how a vase of pretty blooms on your bedside can improve your mood. I love to stick with seasonal choices, especially in spring, so peonies and ranunculus are my go-tos.”

Upgrade hardware

“Our Ikea bedside tables are total space savers thanks to their sleek width, and we customized them with quartz knobs from Anthropologie. I love this little trick of making a budget piece feel high-endan Ikea hack at its best!”

Add a scent

“A candle isn’t only for burning at night. It’s also a lovely aroma at my bedside even when it’s not lit. My favourite right now is the Fairview candle from Vancouver Candle Co. Its notes of grapefruit, peach and red currant make it sweet, citrusy and perfect for spring.”

Tidy up

“A happy space is free from clutter, and I’m selective about what is displayed. I use a tray to keep all of my perfumes in order, and I swap out framed art as a pretty backdrop. This is a little corner of my room I love hanging out in.”

Pamper yourself

“A bedtime ritual prepares you for sleep, and now that spring is here I’ve refreshed my old routine. I keep a lovely hand cream on my bedside table and it’s the last thing I reach for before I catch some beauty rest. This Rodin cream from Lynn Steven in Gastown is nourishing, thick and smells divine.”
