Comfort and care for expecting parents and their bundles of joy.
Walking south along Main St from King Edward, one can’t help but stop and look at the photos of babies and pregnant bellies that grace the window of one small office. If you step inside, an oasis of tranquility greets you. Warm colours and comfortable couches invite you to sit down. But this is no coffee shop or regular office, this is The Midwifery Group. This is the location of the first midwife clinic in Vancouver.

Opened since 1998, the Midwifery Group has delivered more than 2,000 babies; some at the local hospitals, some at home. The eight midwives, who are all registered with the College of Midwives of British Columbia, work in teams to provide the best care possible for their clients.
In addition to regular pre-natal visits, they also offer post-partum care for six weeks following a birth and a lending library of videos and books.
So next time you’re walking by, stop and think about the miracle of life and how this group is helping future parents throughout Vancouver.
