Tiffany & Co. Schlumberger® narrow bracelet in gold with enamel and diamonds, $74,500

Jean Schlumberger was a visionary designer for Tiffany & Co. whose witty, effervescent creations helped solidify Tiffany’s position as a global leader in design and style. He was actually the first Tiffany & Co. designer to be granted the privilege of stamping his own name on his pieces. His highly sculptural and energetic designs were in direct defiance of the flat, geometric lines of the Art Deco, favouring instead a restrained rococo aesthetic influenced heavily by nature especially by the sea.

He and his jewellery were adored by the likes of Elizabeth Taylor and Jacqueline Kennedy, the latter of whom favoured his enamalled bangles, like the one pictured above: 18k gold with red enamel and round brilliant diamonds (carat total weight of 3.00).

Paloma’s Groove™ Ring, $3,000

Paloma Picasso was always struck by how masculine the exterior of the New York flagship Tiffany & Co. is, while its interior is filled with so many unapologetically feminine baubles. Perhaps it was this juxtaposition that helped inspire the Groove series. Marketed as a men’s collection, it’s really a series for anyone who appreciates style with undertones of reflective intellect. With its graphic lines and eight gentle grooves, this piece is both about strength as much as it is about agility. Equally at home on any gender, the Groove ring was inspired by Paloma’s own wedding band.
