Learn how to show off your container plants and create beautiful container garden displays
“Container plantings satisfy every gardener’s need for versatility. Different effects can be created in the garden simply by adding or subtracting plants from containers, changing the location of pots or regrouping them.” – Therese D’Monte Always place containers in uneven numbered groupings. An odd number of pots (1, 3, 5, 7, etc.) is always more pleasing to the eye than an even number of pots. Container groupings should feature a larger central pot with a taller plant. The centre pot should be surrounded by containers of various complementing sizes presented at varying heights. Use overturned pots or bricks to add height where needed. A freestanding ladder makes a great display stand for plants grown in pots and other kinds of containers. “Elevate one or more four-season containers in a high traffic area and you will delight in the fruits of low-maintenance gardening year round.” — Ingeborg van Driel
