Sakura Sushi at Miku and Minami – All of April

Head to Miku and Minami this month to try their Sakura sushi special. The pink sushi rolls are inspired by the city’s beautiful cherry blossom trees, and are guaranteed to be some of the prettiest sushi you’ve ever eaten. At Minami, the rolls are made with tuna, shrimp, asparagus and topped with strawberry compote, while Miku’s version is filled with spinach, mushroom, egg and garnished with Sakura flowers.

Surrey Easter Fair – April 4
Take part in an Easter scavenger hunt, do crafts, play games and visit with local rescue animals.

Fort Langley Easter Egg Scramble – April 5
Kids aged five and under can explore historic Fort Langley while taking part in fun activities, a scavenger hunt an egg scramble that won’t end until all the eggs are claimed.

Stanley Park Easter Train – April 1 to 6
Take a ride on Vancouver’s iconic mini-train and pay a visit to the Easter Bunny himself. You can buy tickets in advance online.

Delta Easter Parade and Egg Hunt – April 5
Follow the Easter Bunny’s parade from the Delta Museum, down Delta St. and finish at Memorial Park where an egg hunt will take place.

Beer League Bash – April 4

The first annual Beer League Bash is taking place this weekend at Brittania Ice Rink. Raising money for the Britannia After School Hockey program teams from four different craft breweries will take part in the hockey tournament, and everyone is invited to come cheer on their favourite team. Eleven different B.C. craft breweries will be serving up drinks for those in attendance, and the $25 ticket to the event gets you three tasting tokens.  

WFF Spring Fling: A Taste of Whistler – April 4

Whistler Film Festival’s Spring Fling is here and better than ever. Get a taste of all the best that Whistler has to offer at this fundraising gala for the Whistler Film Festival. Entertainment Tonight’s Erin Cebula is hosting the event, which will include live entertainment, surprise guests a 50/50 raffle, a live auction and food and wine from some of Whistler’s finest restaurants. Etsy Vintage Swap – April 9

Looking to spruce up your wardrobe for spring? The Etsy Vintage Swap is the best place for one-of a-kind vintage finds that’ll come in way under your budget. To take part in the swap all you have to do is bring an item of your own that’s clean, in good shape and over 20 years old. They’ll accept clothing, shoes, bags, jewellery and other accessories, and you get to choose an item to take home for every item you donate to the swap. 

Okanagan Fest-Of-Ale – April 10 and 11

The Okanagan Fest-of-Ale is the biggest beer festival in B.C.’s interior with over 4,000 people expected to attend this year’s event. Taking place at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre, there will be over 150 different tastings of beer and cider from 47 breweries. There will even be a selection of the Okanagan’s tastiest eats on location to pair with your beer. Tickets and a schedule of entertainment can be found on their website. 

Reel 2 Real Film Festival – April 10 to 17

The Reel 2 Real Film Festival is offering young film buffs an experience that’s outside the box. The film festival aims to show youth culturally diverse movies that promote the appreciation of the art of filmmaking. Catch the opening night screening of Khalil Gibran’s The Prophet, or pay a visit on April 11 for their Pyjama and Breakfast Party followed by fun animation games. VSO Spring Festival – April 10 to 18

Experiencing a performance by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra is always wonderful, but their upcoming Spring Festival promises to be truly special. This year they’re paying tribute to one of the most famous composers of all time, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The festival kicks off with a screening of Amadeus at The Orpheum, then between April 11 and 18 the VSO will perform four beautiful pieces of Mozart’s greatest work.
