Khatsahlano Street Party – Saturday, July 9

Vancouver’s largest arts and music street festival returns to the westside for a day-long celebration in the creative heart of Kitsilano. Check out the best local bands while you tuck into some snacks from one of the 50 food trucks. Do some yoga, try a climbing wall or get your face painted with the kids. And don’t forget to come see us at the BCLiving lifestyle stage (West 4th and Yew) for a mixology competition, fashion shows, cooking demos plus lots more fun.

DreamClub Beach Party – Saturday, July 9

Yoga, dancing, sports on the beach… the DreamClub Beach Party is a meeting of minds for anyone interested in self-improvement in the sunshine. Forget burgers and beers though; this sober party includes a potluck of vegan and raw foods, and features activities like acroyoga and hula hoop workshops for members to try.

Carnaval del Sol – Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10

Celebrate the sounds of Latin America at this free music, dance and food event put on by Latincouver. Listen to samba, dance along to a Zumba class, taste some tacos or try one of the lesser-known Latin American cuisines on offer.

Symphony at the Park – Sunday, July 10

While away a sunny Sunday at Deer Lake Park’s annual free concert with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Under conductor Tania Miller, the VSO will be performing songs from a wide range of composers such as Tchaikovsky and will even be playing the theme music from Star Wars. Take a chair or picnic blanket to make an evening out of it—the concert takes place on the grass behind the Shadbolt Centre.

Keys to the Streets: Woodward’s Summer Jam Session – Monday, July 11

Head to Woodward’s Atrium for an evening of live piano music from Willa, Dan Moxon of Bend Sinister, The Ruffled Feathers and Colour the Wild to raise money for Keys to the Streets, a three-year-old program that places painted pianos on the streets of Vancouver for everyone to enjoy.

The Pancakes and Booze Art Show – Thursday, July 14

Vancouver’s largest underground art show features 50 up-and-coming artists, live body painting and a pancake bar. Part of an America-wide network of Pancake & Booze events, the Vancouver show will include live music and the opportunity to purchase art from emerging artists before they hit the big time.

Pemberton Music Festival – Thursday, July 14 to Sunday, July 17

Pemby kicks off this week with a stellar lineup of luminaries—from Pearl Jam and The Killers to Snoop Dogg, J.Cole, The Chainsmokers and Billy Idol. Mount Currie is the epic backdrop for this four-day festival of music, art and comedy—accommodation options include roughing it in the campsite or getting a shuttle from Whistler to the festival grounds like a VIP.

Vancouver Folk Festival – Friday, July 15 to Sunday, July 17

Sixty acts from 18 different countries will be bringing a mix of world music, roots and folk songs to the stages of the 39th annual Vancouver Folk Festival. Headlined by The New Pornographers and Martha Wainwright, the three-day festival attracts around 40,000 people to Jericho Beach.

Vancouver Pro Beach Volleyball Open – Friday, July 15 to Sunday, July 17

Watch the pros play at Kits Beach this weekend at the annual Volleyball Open, which features the best players from across North America and the globe. Sixty-four teams, each with two players, will take part in the three-day event to compete for the grand prize of $15,000.

Theatre Under the Stars – Now until Saturday, August 20

Since the 1940s, Theatre Under the Stars has been enchanting al fresco entertainment lovers and this year the outdoor stage will be showcasing two classics, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and West Side Story on alternating evenings at Stanley Park’s Malkin Bowl.
