Time is running out to catch the city’s most macabre tour. The Lost Souls of Gastown Tour tells the tale of scandalous bawdy houses, gristly murder and more. Discover the dark underbelly of Vancouver in this “gothic theatre adventure” and discover the secrets that line Gastown’s cobblestone streets. The terrifying tour runs on selected nights up until November 15 and you can purchase tickets online for $19 for seniors and students and $22 for adults.

On November 1 they’re hosting magician Merlin Cosmos for Martinis and Magic, a night filled with, well, exactly what it sounds like. B.C. Uncorked is the perfect place to celebrate all the tastiest things our province has to offer. Vancouver’s rainy weather won’t be quite as miserable with an umbrella from the Vancouver Firefighters’ Umbrella Campaign. Raising money for a school snack program for impoverished kids, over 200 firefighters will be at major intersections downtown selling umbrellas. Video may have killed the radio star, but Render: Vancouver International Music Video Festival is making a strong case that the sacrifice was worth it. This annual event pays tribute to the art of the music video regardless of genre. Hosted by Vancity Theatre, the festival will have videos from around the world and from local gems. It’s the perfect place to spend a day immersing yourself in the most innovative, original music videos in the world.
