REVS (Burnaby)

Western Canada’s largest bowling centre just happens to be conveniently located in the shadow of the Holdom Skytrain station. Get your bowl on at REVS in Burnaby, where the pizza is handmade and the game is always on the big screen. If the state-of-the-art Cosmic Bowling isn’t your thing, grab a drink at Striker’s Bar and hit the pool tables in the REVS lounge, or maybe even sneak in a workout in the full-service Fitness Centre. And don’t forget the kids – until 6 p.m., children under 16 bowl free.

Commodore Bowling & Billiards

Canada’s oldest surviving recreation centre, Commodore Bowling & Billiards has been a place where “Pleasant Days May Be Spent” since 1930. And with 12 lanes of five-pin bowling, 20 billiard tables, arcade games and a licensed lounge area, where else would you want to spend them? North Shore Bowl

If you live on the North Shore, this is likely your bowling destination. But along with convenient proximity, you’ll also have access to 16 competitive league standard five-pin lanes, all lovingly and impeccably maintained by owner and three-time Canadian bowling champion Richard Grubb.

North Shore Bowl is also open earlier than most other locations, starting its operations at 9 a.m. from Monday to Wednesday (the rest of the week it opens after 11 a.m.). Whether you’ve got kids or you’re a kid at heart, you won’t want to miss Glow Bowling on the weekends, or birthday parties in the glowing party room.

Town ‘n Country Bowl

If you love 10-pin bowling, head to Town ‘n Country Bowl. Located inside the Super 8 Motel on Southeast Marine Drive, this establishment hosts birthday parties, fundraisers and corporate events galore, in addition to its regular public bowling schedule. If special offers and discounts sound good to you, join Club TNC for free and you’ll become instant “family” members. Come for the bowling, stay for the nachos and wings.

Old Orchard Lanes

Old Orchard Lanes embodies old school charm in more ways than one. Although they keep an extremely low profile online (no website and very little social media), enthusiastic word-of-mouth reviews keep the visitors rolling in. The lanes and return tracks remain unfettered by excessive new age technology, though they are kept in great shape by the dedicated staff. It was only nine months ago that the automatic scorekeeping system was installed – but feel free to keep your math sharp and keep score manually. For a more intensive bowling experience and lively company, join their bowling league and watch the pins fly.
