The editor of Vancouver Is Awesome names the trifecta of fishing spots that makes Squamish awesome too.
Seeing as I don’t drink and I don’t dance, most of the time when I find myself going out, it’s wholly based on sharing semi-quiet moments with friends and family at places where you can eat… or places where you can fish!
My wife Katie and I have a two-year-old son who would probably tell you that our visits to Little Nest off of the Drive are his favourites. Personally, I prefer our trips to the All India (our little Arlo is still breastfeeding, yet he loves naan bread and has taken a liking to curry), and I think that Katie would agree with me on that one.
When we leave the little guy with Grandma for the night, the Hamilton Street Grill in Yaletown is always top of the list for romantic, delicious dinners.
As for the fishing? The trifecta of Cat, Brohm and Alice lakes, all within 15 minutes of each other just past Squamish, can’t really be beat for a quick day trip.
