The Dish: The Seafood Boil for Two
The Details: There's no arguing that seafood tastes better by the ocean—and this summer, the Sandbar is offering up the perfect dish to complement their waterfront location.
On Sunday nights, book a reservation (trust us, you'll need one) for the Seafood Boil for Two ($97), which features "a taste of the wide bounty of fresh catches available here on the West Coast of B.C. and includes double lobster tails, a full pound of mussels and clams, jumbo prawns, Old Bay broth, Andouille sausage, potatoes, and local corn on the cob."
Pair it with a draught beer or sangria (we recommend the white), and be sure to order up a side of the house-made focaccia bread ($7) to soak up all that delicious sauce.
If you're looking for other new menu items, try the Wagyu carpaccio ($29) with crispy oyster mushrooms, watercress, artichoke aioli and crostini, or the Smoked Salmon and Burrata ($23) with salsa verde, pine nuts and crostini. Both are great to share.
And the meal wouldn't be complete without our favourite dessert, so order up the Belgian Chocolate Pudding with pistachio praline for a sweet finish ($12).
You'll also get to enjoy live music with your meal as The Sandbar hosts singer-songwriters, multi-instrumentalists and entertainers seven days a week starting at 7 p.m. as well as Fridays through Sundays from 3 to 6 p.m.
The Seafood Boil is available on Sundays from 4 p.m. (Note: On the night we went, it had sold out by 7 p.m., so get there early if you don't want to miss out!)
