1. Colin Mochrie – Thursday, May 24 to Saturday, May 26

Canadian improv legend Colin Mochrie, star of Whose Line Is It Anyway, will be coming to Vancouver for three special shows: two improv sets with members of the Vancouver Theatresports League, followed by a similar set up at The Vogue Theatre on Friday, and then a special “Colin and friends” show back at The Improv Centre on Saturday.

2. Rupture – Thursday, May 24 to Sunday, May 27

The Vancouver International Film Festival presents a mini festival of innovative, odd and otherworldly films that blend genres and elude easy categorization. Check out the western Canadian premiere of the highly-anticipated Hereditary, the coming-of-age body horror Blue My Mind, the stranger-than-fiction heist caper American Animals and the Canadian premiere of oddball Damsel. Rupture will also feature Self-Destructive Cinema, a showcase of nine new short films by Vancouver creators that will enjoy their world premieres… and then be wiped from existence.

3. Parker Art Salon – Friday, May 25 to Sunday, May 27

Once a year, 104-year-old Parker Street Studios transforms into a salon-style fine art fair, including a collector’s night, silent auction, studio tours and a small art wall that showcases works for $200.

4. Carded! – Saturday, May 26

Catch the final edition of Carded! The art card trading show features work by 50 artists displayed on the gallery walls as 2.5″ x 3.5″ cards. Buy a pack of five mixed cards for $5 and see what you get… or trade with other people at the show to get the cards you want!

5. Spark, Fire and Light – Saturday, May 26

Spark, Fire and Light is Terminal City Glass Co-op’s fundraising evening, featuring live glass-blowing demonstrations, canapes, drinks and music. A silent auction that will showcase pieces by some of North America’s premier glass artists, with works ranging from wearable jewelry to functional and sculptural objects. Monies raised from this annual event support community-building activities and Terminal City Glass Co-op’s public and educational programming.

6. Spring Into Summer Market – Saturday, May 26

Get ready for the sunny season at Portobello West’s Spring Into Summer Market, which will be held in its new home at the Yaletown Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre this weekend. Featuring over 50 B.C.-based vendors, plus music and food, the market is the ideal place to meet makers and pick up local gifts.

7. Vibez – Saturday, May 26

9. Port Moody’s Brewers Row Dinner – Tuesday, May 29

Head to Craft for a taste of Port Moody’s Brewers Row, featuring Moody Ales, Twin Sails Brewing, the Parkside Brewery and Yellow Dog Brewing Co. during an evening of beer-paired dishes. Tickets include a welcome beer, plus four courses each paired with a beer from one of the four breweries.
