Along with Fifth Avenue Cinemas and The Ridge, The Park Theatre rounds out the Festival Cinemas trio. Tucked away on the newly renovated Cambie Street, it houses one screen and shows predominantly mainstream favourites.

The Park is a great alternative to the overwhelming bustle of multiplex theatres with 10-plus screens and lineups to match. Designed by the same architects as the Vogue Theatre on the Granville Strip downtown, the Park opened in 1941 but, after extensive renovations, has all of the modern comforts that movie goers are accustomed to, including 3D capability and Dolby surround sound.
The concession stand is stacked, using only real butter on the popcorn. The atmosphere is laidback and the innovative “love seats” with fold-up armrests are conducive to getting cozy on a date.
As part of the Festival Cinemas group, Park Theatre patrons enjoy reduced rates for members, student discounts and cheap matinees.
