Let’s face it – life is complicated. But finding joy in your life doesn’t have to be. Stop and smell the roses once in a while and you'll find yourself more at peace
Something as simple as going for a swing at the park can make your day
Let’s face it. Life is complicated, but finding joy in your life doesn’t have to be.
In fact, you can easily find it in simple pleasures. Take notice of what makes you laugh and feel light-hearted and consciously work to bring more of that into your everyday life.
Rather than gulping down your morning coffee, stop to savour the aroma and taste of that first sip . Get outside for a walk, simply to enjoy nature. Bring a book to your favourite coffee shop and sit down to sip and read . Take time to soak in the tub instead of hurrying through a shower . Do something nice for someone else. Buy fresh flowers for yourself and place them where you can enjoy them.
Feeling joy doesn’t have to be experienced like one giant, expensive fireworks show. Look for it in small pleasures peppered throughout the day. The key lies in savouring these moments, no matter how small. It’s a great stress reducer.
