2. Explore a prefab home

Edmonton-based prefab company Honomobo showcases their 704-square-foot shipping container home that can be used as a laneway house, office, cabin or permanent residence. These custom-built structures are durable, chic and include eco-friendly solar power. The interior will be designed by Kendall Ansell Designs and landscaped by Blue Pine who will also be at the Home + Garden show this year.

3. Go green

This year, Jovak Landscape & Design, No Limits, Vandenberg’s Landscape Design and Azuro Concepts will focus on urban gardens. On display will be innovative container and small space gardens designed with conservation in mind. No matter the size of your deck or yard, you’ll find inspiration to make the most of your outdoor living space.

4. Bid for a good cause

Ultimate Upcycle Challenge: Eat Your Veggies features 10 local influencers and tastemakers battling it out, producing one-of-a-kind planters and living walls for your indoor/outdoor garden. Place a bid to win your favourite planter or living wall in the silent auction. All proceeds go towards Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver.

5. Make time to shop

Go on a shopping spree at M(art)ket and Portobello West. Check out home decor, fashion and art pieces from local makers that will elevate your personal style. Need a signature art piece to define your home? M(art)ket will be featuring art and photography pieces that are suitable for every budget.

6. Ask an Expert

Need advice? Ask an Expert returns to the Home + Garden Show. Local insiders will be on hand to answer your questions for a custom 10- to 15-minute consultation. Don’t forget to bring colour swatches, floor and cabinet samples with you to make the most of your time.
