Grant townhomes include luxury details often reserved for a single-family home
Kelly Deck’s new commercial design project, Grant, features bright, minimal design and clean lines.
Vancouver interior designer Kelly Deck and home builder Wesbild recently completed a new townhome projected called ‘Grant.’ Located just off Commercial Drive, the award-winning designer liked the Scandinavian-inspired homes so much – she became its first buyer.
Jay Barre, Director of Marketing for Wesbild says “Grant, on the 1500-block of Grant Street, represents a level of design luxury for the area that is unmatched.”
The Drive has been a neighborhood with restored character homes for years, but not many high-end developers have shown interest.
“We wanted to give buyers an extraordinary place to call home. All the things that people want most of all in urban living are addressed, beautifully, in Grant. It goes way beyond lifestyle,” says Barre.

One of the drawbacks with condo or townhouse living, anywhere, is of course, noise. Wesbild applied the latest in sound attenuation design to significantly reduce noise travelling through the walls and floors of the building. This includes double-stud insulated walls with channels for sound to dissipate, concrete topping on all floors, solid-core doors and consolidated floor plans that include the placement of staircases to reduce sound transfer.
As with any project Kelly Deck puts her name to, expect gorgeous, high-quality cabinetry, appliances from Fisher & Paykel and Blomberg, and utilizing small spaces to their absolute maximum.
“Grant is really about family living in the heart of the city. These are two- and three-bedroom units so, yes; you can live here and stay here as your life changes. It’s a home. A top-quality home within an established and great neighbourhood,” says Deck.
The interiors are loosely inspired by Kelly’s recent travels to Switzerland, Sweden and Denmark, resulting in bright, simple interiors with minimal fuss.
“I wanted this place to be the kind of home I’d want to live in. I loved the level of thinking that went into this project from the get go. They asked me to design the interiors to reflect the quality of build; the kind you see mostly in single-family homes,” says Deck. “Once the kitchens and bathrooms went in and I furnished the show suite, I realized I’d found my home. I bought it!”
