The Great Canadian Craft Fair returns in support of local artisans and women's shelters, and to celebrate Mother's Day
Find beautiful handcrafted jewelry and other unique Mother’s Day gifts at Spring Fling
This Mother’s Day weekend, Great Canadian Craft returns for two days with its Spring Fling at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
Not only does the craft fair showcase hundreds of independent artisans, but it also aims to help local women’s shelters.
Indulge your mom with a scarf, jewelry, gourmet goodies and more. Or, just spend time with her browsing the wares of over 500 exhibitors offering everything from handmade soaps to art to greeting cards, and treats including delectable cheeses, decadent chocolates, and gourmet seasonings.
Darryl McIvor from Amoda Tea is crafting some spring teas especially for the show.
Kali Richardson from Bella Couture Shop will feature women’s styles from her spring and summer collections.
“The fair is an awesome collection of exhibitors that pour so much creativity into their craft that it really gives you an opportunity to find unique items that no mall could ever sell,” said organizer Mark Brown. His personal favourites include Cowl and Company, Monkey Butter, and Irit Sorokin Designs.
A complete list of exhibitors is available on the Great Canadian Craft website. Mothers with young children can also enjoy the fair, as it includes a number of activities for children.
Great Canadian Craft is also working with the Salvation Army and three of its women’s shelters to create awareness for these charitable projects within the community:
Great Canadian Craft’s Spring Fling takes place at the Vancouver Convention Center, May 11 from 10am-8pm and May 12 from 10am-5pm.
Tickets are $10 at the door, or $8 online. Children 12 and under get in free.
