On February 14, Market in the Shangri-La Hotel is offering up a six-course meal that includes seared duck breast with a cashew purée and winter squash, Rangeland elk with black truffle and Dungeness crab chowder mixed with sweet potato gnocchi and squid ink tuile. $110 per person

Enjoy a six course-tasting dinner at Hawksworth Restaurant on February 14. Couples get to indulge in the caramelized scallop with hearts of palm, caviar and grapefruit; the Alaskan king crab with avocado, cucumber and pepper vinaigrette; grilled langoustine with meyer lemon; pheasant tarragon gnocchi with hearts of fire and spiced pheasant jus; roasted lamb loin with black truffle, Brussels sprouts and Yukon gold potatoes; and petit four.

In the mood for Italian food? Take your amante to La Terrazza this Valentine’s Day. This authentic four-course meal features Canadian ingredients, including the alla aragosta with Nova Scotian lobster and the Albertan Angus reserve beef tenderloin. Save some room for dolce, as couples can choose from either the oven-baked mascarpone white chocolate cheesecake or the mouth-watering chocolate ganache with banana cream, peanut butter quenelle and white chocolate crème anglaise.

Craving a French-style dinner this Valentine’s Day? Au Comptoir is offering a four-course Parisian feast on February 14th. Start with the appetizer, local caviar with potato and crème fraîche bavarois. Select from various elegant choices, we recommend the lobster with black truffle accompanied by bisque aioli, terrine of leek, grapefruit and watercress. Not a fan of seafood? Then make your dinner more intimate with the bone-in rib-eye steak for two. This year, Farmer’s Apprentice is offering an “In Full Bloom” Valentine’s dinner. Diners have the option between the six-course herbivore and omnivore menu. Also, the menu will feature an edible flower with each dish, like the lavender with three-week aged duck. Couples can add optional wine pairings to their meal.
