Easy editing apps
"Smartphone editing apps can be powerful tools. My favourites are Snapseed and A Color Story. I always brighten, straighten, crop and play with contrast and saturation before I post my little piece of art to Instagram."

Lighting is key
"Crisp natural lighting will give you the best results. Always look for softly diffused light, and if you’re indoors, shoot in front of a window. If you’re working in direct sunlight, step into a shaded area to shoot."

Three is your lucky number
"When composing an image, using groupings of three or five is much more appealing to the eye than groupings of two or four. Go for those odd numbers when you’re snapping your next shot."

Keep it fresh
"The composition of your feed is just as important as the quality of an individual image. The first nine photos in your feed are the reason you get those follows, so keep your content consistent in colour and feel, but varied in content."

Angles Matter
"Don’t be afraid to move around and snap a few different angles until you get the one shot that feels and looks just right. It often takes about 10 to 20 shots before you find the one that you love (kinda like a selfie, right?)"
